FAQ
The company began in Poland, but was named by my friend Brian Petras. We were friends in the Air Force when we served. During his service, he was diagnosed with cancer. He fought for a really long time. He ran in the Boston Marathon and even rode his bike from San Francisco to Virginia Beach. We wanted to sail the world together!
Before he passed away he named this brand. I dedicate this site to him! I miss you buddy!
Hemp is one of the most durable plant fibers on the planet. It is much stronger than cotton.
However! Dogs nails are very abrasive and dog teeth are very sharp. I know that might sound obvious but if your dog is constantly scratching at themselves the collar will get damaged, it's not plastic, it's not kevlar.
Also, if your dog is a chewer, don't let your pup chew on the leash, yes they can chew through the leash in about 5 minutes, but you can pull a car with the leashes. Tensile strength is not the same thing.
Everything we use is sourced from the EU. All of our hemp comes from Poland, Romania or Hungary. It is then sent to Poland where everything is made by hand on badass old school sewing machines.
Our products are made by true artisans. We get them from this cool little company that has survived World War 2 and the Russian Occupation of Poland. The company was started in the 1920's. We want to support local products and local companies who support people with living wages.
We use metal where possible. In fact, we buy our metal parts from the same supplier used for making horse equipment. We tried for a long time to find an alternative to plastic. We even tried to get a hemp plastic part made. The truth is even metal isn't strong enough in the form of a buckle.
We don't need a mail man getting bit because of a broken buckle. That's why we chose to use the patent pending hammerlock buckle.
We couldn't justify using chemicals to color the hemp. There are some natural ways to dye hemp at home if that is something you would be interested in.
Hemp is incredibly durable and strong for a plant! The word "canvas" is derived from hemp (cannabis).
The truth is we know it's strong and we know it's grown and processed without chemicals. If you would like to know more about our products and hemp be sure to contact us.
